Creating tools for documentation
Documentation Tool for In-House Design Management
In collaboration with a Nordic finance company, we developed a versatile documentation tool that serves both as a project archive and a presentation platform.
OBJECTIVES
Create a documentation tool to streamline project documentation and archiving processes.
Provide an internal presentation platform for showcasing ongoing, completed, and rejected projects.
Provide a user-friendly interface for easy navigation and presentation.
APPROACH - Our process consisted of several key stages to ensure the effective development of the documentation tool:
Conducted client meetings to understand specific needs.
Researched industry standards, best practices and existing documentation tools for project documentation and presentation.
Insights from stakeholder interview.
Developed wireframes and prototypes to visualize the user interface and user experience.
Designing the information architecture. Structured the content and navigation of the documentation template for optimal usability.
Designed visual elements and layouts to enhance the presentation and usability of the tool.
SOLUTION - The developed documentation template offers a straightforward solution for project documentation and archiving:
Easy Browsing: Users can easily navigate through ongoing, finished, and rejected projects.
Presentation Mode: The platform includes a presentation mode for providing an overview of entire projects or specific phases.
User Satisfaction: The client expressed satisfaction with the concept, acknowledging its effectiveness in streamlining their documentation processes.
CONCLUSION - The documentation template for in-house design management exemplifies the value of user-centered design in meeting the specific needs of clients. By collaborating closely with the Nordic finance company and leveraging industry research and best practices, we developed a versatile tool that enhances project documentation and presentation processes.
